The Adventures of a Dog Show Enthusiast: Narva Edition

Let me tell you about last weekend. It all started a few weeks ago when I stumbled upon an ad for a dog show in Narva, Estonia. With the registration deadline looming and us being on the hunt for that elusive last Cacib (yes, just one more to clinch the title of International Beauty Champion), I decided to register my Sweetheart for the competition.

The Journey Begins

Narva, Estonia—a place that sounds like it’s straight out of a fairy tale. Nestled right on the Russian border, it’s a town that promises charm and a touch of adventure. With the political climate being what it is, some might think twice about heading there. But not me! Dog show enthusiasts are a special breed (pun intended). We thrive on the thrill of the competition and the joy of seeing our furry friends shine.

Preparations and Costs

After sending a quick message to my weekend hubby, letting him know about our Friday afternoon departure, I dove into the logistics. Booking accommodation and boat tickets was no small feat, and let's just say my wallet felt significantly lighter afterward. But hey, who can put a price on glory and a shiny new title for your Rensseli?

The Big Day

The weekend arrived, and with it, the excitement of the dog show. Sweetheart, my adorable and talented canine companion, was ready to strut his stuff. The competition was fierce, but he held his own, impressing the judges with his poise and beauty.

Homeward Bound

With Sweetheart’s new title in tow, we made our way back home. The journey was smooth, and I’m happy to report that Russia remained on its side of the border. We returned safe, sound, and triumphant.

Looking Ahead

So, here's to the next adventure—may it be just as thrilling and rewarding! 🐾🏆
